Another year passed in our country, and we again commemorate World AIDS Day Habitat. If we take a quick look around us we see that the housing situation and housing in the world is be a distressing problem.

More than half of the world's population located in urban areas it is estimated that at least 1000 million people live in settlements and other inadequate housing. Hundreds of thousands of families living in truly appalling conditions, without water and sanitation, causing many diseases and conditions. Argentina's only 4 in 10 people live in inadequate housing conditions.
Since Habitat for Humanity Argentina argue that the right to decent housing, access to basic services, education is fundamental and inalienable rights of human beings. So, day after day work so that more people need to be able to solve the problem of housing and habitat.
But we believe that more than 4 walls and a roof, we need to build sustainable communities and housing. That, in the context of the scale of need in Argentina, and the lack of resources, social work requires a more complex and innovative solutions that address short-term responses, but also an insight development and sustainability.
This bet every day to strengthen our relationship with families in need, trying to provide a space conducive to their development and empowerment and appreciating the commitment and their active role in the process. We have valuable tools such as incremental improvements, rents protected and technical advice, legal and financial which are provided on the basis of volunteerism.
World Habitat Day invites us to reflect on the state of each city and the need to take action to reverse the situation. The first look that I suggested we return a grim and discouraging, but going into the communities themselves are isolated actions and energies, together make up the methodology which produces the greatest number of homes in Latin America: the social production of habitat. HPHA proposes to collaborate and promote the production by means of tools that provide funding, professional advice and building hope.

HPHA PART OF A CONFERENCE OF THE CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY ARGENTINA AS TO THE HOUSING ISSUE.

days 6 and 7 October Habitat for Humanity Argentina (HPHA) attended the Congress of "Housing and Human Development "organized by the Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA). The meeting took place on campus that the university has in Puerto Madero, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, and was attended Ana as she Cutts, Executive Director HPHA.

Since the congress was established as main goal the development of a meeting to exchange ideas and experiences to promote a forum for dialogue and reflection on the human right of access to decent housing. While taking into account for this, analysis and debate about the technical, legal, economic, political and social contexts such access is poverty and vulnerability.

The event served as a space for observation and discussion and were invited to participate, members of religious organizations and civil society - NGOs, trade unions, neighborhood associations, unions - teachers, researchers, students, leaders of levels of government and private sector, professionals related to the subject and the general public.

During the second day of the conference, which took place on October 7, Ana Cutts, as a representative and director of HPHA, spoke during the seventh congressional panel, which bore the slogan "Politics, Society Civil and Business. Their perspectives on housing. " Notably, with HPHA director, also part of the panel, among others, the Minister of Social Development of the Province of Buenos Aires, Baldomero Alvarez de Olivera and Director School of Business at the UCA, Zeno Biagosh.

After a brief presentation of HPHA and the most important aspects of the work that has been doing for 8 years in different parts of the country, Ana Cutts continued his speech addressing an analysis of the role that NGOs have in the topic housing. This led to the conclusion that the growing professionalism in this type of organization gives them a key role in interdisciplinary and cross-eyes and the search for an integrated solution. Since the rules and ways of measuring that govern them, are very different from other sectors. For example, the fact of not running behind efficiency or profitability in business terms, you close to the root of the problem, and also the source of the solution: the communities themselves.

As a result of this participation, the Minister of Social Development of the Province of Buenos Aires offered support and materialize a hearing to explore possible collaborative projects that have state and private sector.

Due to major changes in cities caused by the rapid population growth and its impact on the environment, the General Assembly of the Organization of the United Nations (UN) decided by the year 1985, the first Monday of October each year be held on World Habitat Day. Its main objective is to raise awareness to people, communities, organizations and governments, serious housing problems that afflict the world's population and the need to improve with short-, medium-and long-term living conditions of people.
Habitat for Humanity in Argentina (HPHA) work, day after day, on par with those communities that are in a position of vulnerability so that together we can solve the problem of habitat and access to housing. In Argentina, 4 in 10 people live in inadequate housing conditions, so it is necessary a joint effort to reverse this situation.

In all this the role of volunteerism is key, which is why from HPHA, we wanted to honor her invaluable contribution and help in getting more people to live in a better world. We know the effort involved in putting the body, spirit and time to a problem that sometimes seems to overwhelm us, but on the other hand, it also encourages us with pleasing victories that fill us with happiness and show that there is truly possible horizon achieve.
For this, on Saturday October 9th Brigade was HPHA volunteers for World Habitat Day. Serves as a meeting, not only to give recognition for their commitment and collaboration on this special day, but also as a forum for all partners from different places with the work of the organization, to meet and share with other volunteers the experience of what a brigade .
Brigade members had rented and HPHA volunteers (including the Secretary of the National Executive Committee). It began with a talk in Buenos Aires office, then go to La Matanza the "Barrio January 22, where after an introduction and welcome the brigade was subdivided into smaller groups to perform the tasks in each house with their respective family. The morning passed nicely with smiles and lively conversation among those who worked side by side to fill a foundation or help with the ends of a flat. Families were amazed not by the momentum and diligence with which volunteers assist.

Then, at noon, once again, everyone gathered for lunch and start to make a joint reflection on World Habitat Day, sharing the feelings that everyone had to respect. They read a few lines on the origin of the date established by the UN General Assembly and the critical state is currently showing the housing problem worldwide and specifically in Argentina. It was a place of reflection where all agreed that the solution always starts with getting involved. Perhaps the words that Ariel Sosa used as a closure, summarized the thinking of many of those present: "No matter the size of the problem that put us in front, or the hard work we do from our humble position. We think that every grain of sand that we bring to our work, will somehow change the world. "

During the rest of the afternoon, the brigade continued its work until closing time came. It was a special and emotional moment, which included the presence of families and members of HPHA, who thanked the volunteers for their work and shared experience, then give them a little souvenir.

Many volunteers expressed their happiness and pledged their presence for future conferences, as Martín Diego Torres - volunteer - who said: "Today was a very nice experience in my life, I would like to continue helping. .. This type of activity should be multiplied and adding more and more people wanting to help others. " By families, Elvio owner of a house where he worked a group of the brigade, said: "We want to thank all the time and the help they gave us. This is not very common today nobody gives anything without asking anything in return. "

WORLD HABITAT DAY IS DEDICATED THE LAST HOME OF THE" HOMES CONSRUYENDO LUJAN "

Argentina Habitat for Humanity continues its work in the community of Luján, Buenos Aires, helping more people have access to a decent home. So, on this occasion, we are proud to mention the dedication of two full houses. A family Lovera - Romero, in the town of Torres and the other for Lattaro - Asselborn, in the neighborhood of the town of Loreto Jáuregui.

Lovera-Romero's family is formed by Roque, a security guard and Olga, a housewife with 4 children, twins Sergio and Sebastian, 8 years old, Alexis, age 3, and Priscilla, 1. The dedication ceremony for this new home was attended by members of the community, family and friends Lovera - Romero, who entertained his guests with tea, mate and delicious dishes. It was a moment of joy and excitement in which Olga Roque and offered his most sincere thanks, and noted that the brigades of volunteers from companies Novartis, PricewaterhouseCoopers, the local community, and a brigade of the Global Village from Canada, made possible its dream of adequate housing. Of these brigades was the story of little Sebastian in her little school, commented as news from home that "today will be in my house yellow-headed men" (for the yellow helmets HPHA the brigade).

As a reminder to all present the Family issued the following verse:

Your will can transform:
Your tears with sweat,
Your reluctance to sacrifice, hesitate
Your conviction.
allows you to stand up after each trip
, and makes your
cease to be problems.
important thing is in you,
inside you, waiting
That you dare to show it.

The day was capped by a special blessing from the Rev. Gustavo Mansilla Anglican Cathedral of St. John Baptist de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, who reminded the Lovera family-Romero that what is built is a house, but what they have and must continue nurturing is the consolidation of a home.

Moreover, near the town of Torres in Jauregui, Lujan party also held another dedication ceremony, this time the recipients were Diego, Carolina and their children Juan Ignacio and Bernadette, who make up the family Lattaro - Asselborn. It was an emotional celebration attended by, among others, host families, members HPHA and authorities, a brigade of Saint Lukes Lutheran Church in Michigan, USA and Juan Ochoa of the HPH Area Office in Costa Rica.

Family welcomed the guests at the door of your new home, which decorated with balloons, posters and photos, giving color to a warm and sunny afternoon calm was the perfect setting for an unforgettable moment. These came together in the backyard and made a round to show, to thank and acknowledge the lived moments. It also took the time to deliver a certificate of special recognition to the families of the proposed improvements are completed on time and payments, demonstrating how they are getting in on the mission to HPHA others may also have adequate housing.

The family also reminded all volunteers and brigade that helped to build housing, and in particular to the brigade of Credit Suisse (company that also made it possible partial funding for the loan that allowed this construction)

My Uterus Has Dropped What Does That Mean

BEGINNING OF SEED IN SANTA FE CASA

In the month of September we started the first house seed in the Province of Santa Fe, through the joint efforts of the Local and National Bureau of HPHA. The work began with the Lincoln Brigade School students under the supervision of the architect and builder hired by the family.

The "Seed House" is a model of construction management and housing components, which proposes building a stage house, with traditional materials, low initial cost, but completed and improved time to become a home as comfortable as it is intended and financial means to do so. Initially meet the minimum conditions of habitability to the plate or masonry enclosure with galvanized tin roof, and the provision of services within the home.

Poverty and the complexity of the problem of housing is not reduced poverty levels. Therefore require multiple and varied offers of housing solutions that match their reality. Most low-income families in their home country self-constructed along more than 20 years, without prior advice or guidance. It looks at working-class neighborhoods in the process of consolidation and settlement irregular (villas), land at least initially, no titles, but have or are in the process of a factor of secure tenure.

The methodology of "Seed House" HPHA seeks to rescue the natural process of low-income populations, but adding two major opportunities to make a difference in the quality of the finished home: The first is one-time loan for the purchase of quality materials and the second, advice and technical training including planning, design and construction of complete full housing. This puts in the hands of families, knowledge and management that will allow you to gain experience to continue the process of completing their home by themselves.
was most consistent, that this first draft Seed House counted on the youth brigade of between 15 and 18 of the Lincoln American School of La Lucila, Buenos Aires, from different countries such as Venezuela, Netherlands, Colombia, USA, Mexico and Germany. The boys had the privilege of working on the foundation of the house - that part so essential to any home! To do this, in addition to cleaning area - in the middle of Barrio Mocoví City Recreation - had to cut a tree that was in the midst of what will soon be living in the house. By the end of their week, the boys could also start with the first subfloor and see tangible results of a busy week!

This big push to the efforts of the family gave him the enthusiasm and encouragement Coria Family to enable them, in record time, be putting the top seed of the first house in less than a month!

"Seed House" is not only a technical, but also a social proposal, understanding that this project is a further boost to the social production of habitat, since housing is not an end closed but is the expression of a process of inclusion and human development.

Production Reel for actor Gabriel VACATION

Our friend, actor Gabriel Asdourian , we hired as a producer for a reel to promote their work as an actor. The purpose of this video is to show their strengths as an interpreter of various characters in the same story. So we face the project to be filmed in one day and one location. It was filmed in "Espacio Sinergia" , so we have a theater rehearsal room to use as part of the scenery. The address was given by Professor Oliveira Ricardo Lago. The team Kevorkian Alejandro trained technician in camera and lighting and sound Marcos in Vellano, carried out the instructions of the actor, who was looking for the aesthetics of video, a fantastic atmosphere and a camera similar to a "castinera." Therefore the handling of light was very basic, with 4 spots located in a grid of lights on the ceiling of the room. 16 scenes were shot during a Sunday long, but fun.
